Météo France has placed the Hérault department under an orange alert for thunderstorms and rain-related flooding, effective from 10.00 pm on Wednesday 27 August 2025, and under a yellow alert for rain-related flooding, effective from 8.00 pm on Wednesday 27 August. Tonight, the whole of the Hérault department will be swept by severe thunderstorms moving from west to east. These thunderstorms could bring up to 50 mm of rain in one hour.
