Full statement from Hervé Lagrange, Head of Schools Dear Parents, Here is some information to help you prepare for your children’s return to school: The start of term is approaching; it will take place on Tuesday 1 September. The timetables for 2026–27 remain unchanged: set your watches! The gates will open at 8.20 am and 1.50 pm. Class lists will be displayed in the school playgrounds for your information on the morning of the first day of term, before 8.20 am. Primary school: from Year 1 to Year 6. Telethon 2025, Villeneuve-lès-Béziers is getting involved!

From 5 to 7 December 2025, the Espace des Libertés Gérard Saumade will host a wide range of events as part of the Telethon. This year, “Booste ta Commune” is at the heart of the initiatives organised by the local council and local organisations – a charity challenge in aid of the Telethon. Yellow watch for thunderstorms and flooding

Météo France has placed the Hérault department under a yellow SMS alert (weather situation to monitor) for thunderstorms, rain and flooding on Thursday 6 November 2025, between 12 noon and midnight. Over the course of the event, widespread rainfall totals of 40 to 70 mm are expected, with localised amounts of 80 mm, and up to 100–120 mm in the hills of the Minervois and Espinouse regions. Wind gusts may reach 80 km/h along the coast. The utmost caution is advised during this event, particularly when travelling. Read more

Météo France has placed the Hérault département under a yellow wind alert on Thursday 23 October. Gusts of 90 to 110 kph are expected on the plains, rising to 100 to 120 kph on the higher ground. Extreme vigilance is required during this phenomenon. Read more
